Soltani to Fans: Rumors Are True, Start Planning for SunTwo

Festival organizer confirms mildly successful festival will take place again in 2025, denies reports that HANZ is planning rival festival

BERMUDA DUNES — Yassie Soltani, the organizer of the surprisingly unterrible SunDrew festival held earlier this year, has officially confirmed that SunTwo will take place in early 2025.

Soltani went on record after being cornered by the only reporter assigned to cover the event while walking her dog Rufus in a local park.

“SunTwo is happening,” said Soltani. “We received a lot of feedback after SunDrew and the consensus was: everyone wants to go potty again in the desert.”

The announcement comes amid swirling rumors that HANZ, the most talented DJ in the lineup, has set in motion plans to host a rival event the same weekend as SunTwo. According to sources close but not too close to HANZ, she felt disrespected by the organizers and took issue with a number of aspects of the event: Tesser receiving the top spot in the lineup, HanzHats were not stocked at the merch table, and the parking space allotted for her touring van was too small.

Soltani was quick to dismiss the rumors. “Look, HANZ has built a household name for herself. She’s creating a cottage industry with her hats. She’s on the doorstep of a permanent residency. Her estate? Yeah I think it will be massive someday. Shelter? Yes I think a tax shelter is a good idea. Lodge? Yes, she lodged a formal complaint. Manor? Yes I thought we dealt with it in a proper manor. She’s not moving out. She gave notice that she’s staying in the lineup. I don’t think we need to dwell on this much longer.”

Hanz did not respond to multiple text inquiries from the SunDrew times despite posting regularly on IG and TikTok, but a representative made this statement on her behalf:

“HANZ categorically denies these rumors. SunTwo is the last thing on her mind. Right now HANZ is focused exclusively on the launch of You’ve Gotta Be Kitten Me, her handcrafted athleisure line for the GenZ cat mom.”

As fans eagerly await more details about SunTwo, one thing is certain: the festival’s start date remains uncertain, according to Soltani.

“The festival will happen in March or April, whatever. I’m waiting for Tesser to go off DND and get back to me on timing, but as soon as he does we’re getting this thing booked.”
